After passing my first aid course I thought it was important to have a portable first aid kit which I could carry around with me at all times. The one in the photo I bought as a complete kit from Amazon, but you can buy them from other places, or if you wish, make your own by buying the items seperately. The items required for your kit are essentially the same as those you would have for a regular first aid kit, but you need to ensure the dressings are non adhesive to prevent them sticking to your pets fur. One important additional item for your kit is a tick remover. Ticks spread lyme disease, so it is vital that any ticks which attach themselves to your pet must be removed properly without leaving the mouth parts still stuck beneath the skin. The tick needs to be levered out of the skin, and a tick remover is the best way to achieve this. A first aid kit and tick remover provide real peace of mind without breaking the bank.
